Tasquinimod Delayed the Progression of Prostate Cancer

Tasquinimod is an effective drug that can delay the progression of prostate cancer by blocking the blood vessels. Tumors generally require more amount of blood supply to provide nutrients to the tissues present in the tumor.By blocking new blood vessel development, the progression or development of prostate cancer can be avoided. Tasquinimod is an “anti-angiogenesis” drug which can “squeeze off’”the blood supply to the tumors and thereby causing it to starve.

Patients affected with prostate cancer where made to undergo a research and given a pill once a day for four months and when they were tested after six months of time 57% of patients who took Tasquinimod had no progression of prostate vs. the 33% of the patients who took the placebo.

Just like most of the drugs, Tasquinimod also has side effects that could adversely affect the human body. The patients who took Tasquinimod regularly had bone loss, fatigue, pain and stomach problems. Rarely few patients experienced deep vein thrombosis and stroke.

It’s always better to be on the safer side than to be sorry. If the proper treatment program, such as PSA ZERO, is administered at the right time prostate cancer patients can prolong their life as well as save themselves from the deadly disease.
